CONFERENCE

On September 1–2, 2026, lawyers, leaders, and advocates gathered for a convening to share collective learning on the legal landscape facing forcibly displaced people in the United States. Conference attendees explored collective enterprise and collaboration to address and fulfill the rights to due process, security of person, and non-discrimination for all those moving through humanitarian pathways.

This conference centered on the challenges and opportunities facing Afghan and Ukrainian community members and others navigating humanitarian legal pathways (SIV, TPS, parole, etc.) in Iowa and beyond. A total of 4.75 Iowa CLE credit hours were available across select sessions.
