If I apply for TPS, will this affect my application for asylum or SIV?
No. Applying for TPS does not affect an application for asylum or any other immigration benefit and vice versa.
However, while denial of an application for asylum or any other immigration benefit does not affect your ability to register for TPS, the underlying reason another application was denied may also lead to denial of TPS.

If you are applying for TPS under the May 20, 2022 designation, you must register during the 18-month registration period that runs from May 20, 2022, through Nov. 20, 2023.
USCIS encourages eligible Afghans to register as soon as possible within the registration period.
